Iron deficiency anaemia
Do you think your child gets tired very fast, has pale skin, their hands & feet remain cold, eats less, is irritable and prefers to eat things like ice hair etc? These are not behaviour problems. These all indicate low iron or anaemia.
Ok, let's look at some facts first.
70 to 73% of Indian children below 3 years of age have anaemia or low iron.
While children below 5 years are better by 3% only (68-70%)
Why is anaemia so high in India? The most important factor is a vegetarian diet.
Three micronutrients i.e. Iron, vitamin B12 and Zinc are low in a vegetarian diet.
NFHS Guidelines say to give iron supplements 100 days per year to all Indian children above 1 year of age.
Why?
Iron transports oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body for the proper functioning of all the organs including muscles and bones. So, a low iron not only leads to improper growth and development of the child but also affects the brain, especially the cognitive Brain function i.e. the ability to learn, think and remember
Let’s see which children are at higher risk for low Iron in the body
- Babies who are born prematurely or have a low birth weight
- Babies who drink cow's milk or goat's milk before age 1
- Breast-fed babies who aren't given complementary foods containing iron after age 6 months
- Babies who drink formula that isn't fortified with iron
- Children ages 1 to 5 who drink more than 24 ounces (710 milliliters) of cow's milk, goat's milk or soy milk a day
- Children who have certain health conditions, such as chronic infections or restricted diets
- Children who have been exposed to lead
- Children who don't eat enough iron-rich foods
- Children who are overweight or obese
Ideally, iron levels or haemoglobin should be checked for each child at 1 year of age and then early. If needed iron supplements should be added.
The biggest challenge is giving iron syrups for 3 months every year. Most iron supplements or syrups have side effects like Metallic taste, constipation, teeth staining etc. Children refuse to take the syrups beyond 7 to 10 days.
So what's the solution?
Chubears Iron gummies.
How are they different from other iron supplements for kids?
Two reasons. First, they have been created by doctors ( child specialist and immunity expert).
Second, a new molecule i.e liposomal microsomal molecule has been used along with JAPANESE TECHNOLOGY for this iron gummy.
This unique molecule has zero side effects like teeth staining, constipation or metallic taste. Also, it is 3 - 4 times more effective than other molecules, Increasing the iron levels by 65% after just 1 month of therapy.
Children love the taste and parents have seen a remarkable change in the activity and learning power once the haemoglobin comes to normal.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your bottles because your child deserves the best.
